The Concept of Stealing!
Stealing is a harsh word, many people try to avoid it. The ones who don't avoid stealing avoid the consequences which is still very bad. Sometimes in life there moment when you feel the urge to steal just like Liesle and Rudy in the book. However, that is a very wrong thing to do they could work instead of stealing or even ask someone to lend them money (as long as they pay it back) or something. For example, the poor farmer worked so hard and the kids just stool the thing as if they were easy to get. instead of doing that they could of asked the old man to give them a job or something like that. My point is that stealing is wrong weather your dying or weather your fine. The fact that you stool or that you were planing on stealing is incorrect.

Do you know if the farmer has kids? Or are you merely assuming? Will the farmer's kids go hungry because he lost a few apples? Does this change anything? Liesel's family has nobody who will lend them money nor are there any jobs for her to take, what other options does she have? Are morals or ethics a luxury, one that we are only able to have if we are not truely asked to stick to them?
I agree with you catherine that stealing is wrong and should never be done!!... but put yourself in Liesel's place, if you are not receiving a good education and you don't know the concept of stealing(if it's right or wrong), and if you are about to die of hunger and the only option you have is stealing food...would you do it??
Well in this case I'll say not stealing might have killed Liesel and Rudy of hunger. I don't mean that stealing is a correct thing to do but in this case of Liesel and Rudy I think the stealing wasn't really for bad intentions. Also you include that they could have worked at the farm but how will they work is they don't even have energy to work because they're staving?
yes but instead of stealing couldnt she have asked!?! ... honestly its not what you get stolen or from who u stole it its the fact that u stoll is wrong
you said that thay could have asked the man to give them food what if the man didn't want to give them the food? then if they steal the man would obvioulsy know that they were the ones who stole it. You also wrote that stealing is bad even if your are dying in my opinion this isnt true because your life is more importante than anything else so stealing in this position wouldn't be that bad becaus eyou aare stealing becaus e you really do need it.
catherinee.. i dont think its true that you would rather die than steal because i bet you have stolen more than once in your life!.. and u dont hve a need liek they do.
